All of a sudden, there were NEW sticks. Accurate sticks. Sticks with rifleman sights! Bye-bye to the wobbly A1s (and I didn't figure it out until later, LIGHT sticks). Had to have one....... My guess is that we're talking '89? Maybe '90. My bunkees father had a FFL. I made such a comment, and was soon in front of said bunkees father, copy of SGN in hand. I ordered a 'mated set', A2 upper and lower, straight from PWA. The serial number on the lower is 1753X. Interestingly enough, I was showing this stick to a Patron of mine back in early '01, at Yuma Proving Grounds. He just HAPPENED to have a PWA as well, and the serial numbers were VERY close. Easily the same year. That Patron used the PWA for his DCM rifle, and is Presidents Hundred. Which isn't surprising, as he's also the CO of the AMUs As far as hindsight, I made the wrong decision. Should have gotten an A1 upper, and later a flat top. At the time, flat tops just weren't...... But I decided that 'now was the time', right about '94 Went to order another set (or two), and was told that they would produce up until the ban went into effect, and no more. I don't remember who I was speaking with, but the indication was that RRA would be the name they went under AFTER the ban went into effect. Easily the same quality as the Colt........... but it could be the guy that I had build it up too........ |
